Mural Activation at Broadway Shopping for Sydney Fringe Festival 2018

This year Sydney Fringe Festival is taking over Broadway Shopping rooftop for an epic roller-skate rink and pop-up lounge.

The roller rink will be operating all day Saturday and Sunday, along with nighttime sessions from Wednesday to Friday.

Muzi was commissioned to create a Mural Art for this fun activation. The artwork measures 5m (w) x 3m (h).

Muzi created the concept "My Aussie Garden" for the project.  It represents a creation of a fun space for people to feel embraced and inspired. It brings the diversity and the colourfulness of the present flora in Australia and invites all spectators to look beyond the mural and connect with the sky above them.

As a garden in a house, the artwork creates a welcoming place for all encouraging them to always sustain the connection with the planet as well as keep experiencing adventures surrounded by nature. 

To compose the artwork Muzi has chosen some colourful and famous native Australian species as well as some plants easily found in gardens and parks around the country such as the Waratah flower, the Sturt's Desert Pea, the Silver dollar eucalyptus, the Grevílea-robusta, the Leucadendron, the King Protea, and the Chamelaucium.
